ISSUES TREATED
FEELING TRAPPED IN A SITUATON
Over the years, many clients have come to see me with a sense of being trapped or ‘stuck.’ This gives a feeling of a lack of control, limited choices, or an inability to escape or change one’s circumstances. It can manifest in many areas, including, but not limited to, relationships, work, or personal goals.
Feeling trapped can affect you in several ways psychologically:
Anxiety and stress
Constant worry
Physical symptoms, including headaches, insomnia, muscle tension, and digestive problems.
Depression and hopelessness
Loss of motivation
Sadness and despair
Learned helplessness
Reduced effort
Self-blame
Feelings of isolation
Withdrawal from social interactions
Distorted feelings of support, any help being seen as not helpful or unavailable
Self-esteem and identity issues
Self-doubt
Identity confusion – losing a sense of who you are or your ability to change
Some examples of situations where I have helped clients are:
Being stuck in an unfulfilling job
Difficult or abusive relationships. I have vast experience in helping people in abusive relationships and with the after effects of leaving.
Unresolved family dynamics
I can help you to find practical solutions and I will help you to build on your strengths and give you a sense of agency and empowerment. Together we can work to help you break free from being stuck and find new ways to move forward.
